Sell your expertise through branded training videos

Promotional Version

If you have valuable industry knowledge, it can be a great idea to package it up and sell it in the form of training videos. Quick and easy to digest, this type of content can be licensed or sold to your customers. They can then easily share the files around their organisation to ensure everyone is on the same page.

This particular video was created for prominent London Law Firm Mishcon de Reya. The video commissioned by the employment team, was focused on sexual misconduct in the workplace. With it’s clear and direct delivery of information, anyone who watched would understand what is expected from them in terms of their behavior within the workplace.

Once complete Mishcon de Reya can then offer this to their employment clients. This can be both a time saving, and a cost saving tool within large organisations.

To create the video, I set up in a meeting room and used a two camera set up. This allows me to switch camera angles within the edit which is helpful for two reasons. Firstly, I can use the camera angle switch to disguise any fumbles in the dialogue. Secondly, the switch between angles helps to change the look just enough to add interest and keep things flowing.

A lapel mic is a must to capture clean and professional sound. There is nothing more distracting than badly recorded audio so great care is taken here. Then we need to light our subject to give the visuals that high end look and shape our subject so they pop out from the scene.

Last (but definitely not least) is the teleprompter. This is so important as it just saves time and get’s thing done when there is a large amount of info to get through. It can be easy for someone trying to deliver their lines from memory, to loose their train of thought or choose the wrong word. If this happens enough, fatigue can set in, confidence can drop making it all way harder than it needs to be. Reading a telepromter does bring it’s own set of problems to navigate, but these are easily overcome and I will cover in a separate post.

On the final file delivery, I handed over the full version in the Mishcon de Reya company branding for their Academy arm and also a white labeled version so companies that purchased the training video could easily brand up as themselves. I also created a short taster video perfect for LinkedIn, to help them promote the item without giving away all the information. Lastly an even shorter vertical video for Instagram.
